Looking for info on who to contact to obtain the plot/graves sites of my maternal grandparents and possible my great grandparents. My uncle visits my grandparents graves once a year and has told me that the cemetery has been neglected. I am pleased to see that someone is interested in the upkeep. Hoping to find burial records to assist with family tree research. Thank you

The President of the HCGS, Bob Murgittroyd, and another HCGS member attended a meeting tonight about the cemetery. They will hopefully have an update on the proceedings to give us at the regular HCGS meeting this Saturday June 14 at the Jersey City Free Public Library.

The recent meeting to elect a new board of directors for the cemetery brought to light the news that no one is quite sure where the records for the cemetery went. There was an unconfirmed rumor that a relative of the former caretaker had them but no one knows for sure yet.

There is hope overall though. The new board seems good and dedicated to helping improve the cemetery although it will be a challenge with very limited funds available for upkeep. The HCGS will certainly post any news we become aware of on our web site.
