I am looking for an obituary/death notice for Anna Boyle (nee Bonner) of Bayonne. She died in March of 1897 at 28 years old; thanks to HCGS forum member foredsemail, I now know that she was buried in Holy Name Cemetery on March 26, 1897.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or help in finding this obituary!

The NJ room at the Jersey City public Library on Jersey Ave and Montgomery St has on link on their website to download a form and send $5 for a newspaper obituary.

Go to: http://www.jclibrary.org/service/njroom.php

Click where it says download form. You can also call them for more info.

I haven't done this myself yet. Good Luck!

Thank you so much for the tip and the link! I had heard of the NJ Room, but I didn't know they offered such a great service. I live in Monmouth County and it's difficult for me to make the trip up there, so I will definitely try the obituary service out. Thank you again -- I will let you know how it works out

I just wanted to post a quick update and let everyone know that the NJ Room is wonderful! I called and spoke with one of the librarians who was very helpful. I simply gave her my grandmother's name and date of death and she researched the obituary for me. Within just a few days (even with the Thanksgiving holiday) I received her obituary and funeral notice from The Evening Journal (later known as The Jersey Journal). Enclosed was a form for submitting the $5 research fee. Although there was only a blurb about my grandmother (likely because she was a Bayonne resident and this was a Jersey City paper), I learned her address, exact date of death, and where her funeral was held.

I hope to get to the library in person one day; but for anyone who can't easily make the trip, I highly recommend the NJ Room's service! Thank you again for the tip!
