I've recently found an old family letter in which the writer states that he had recently lost his wife and young child due to an auto accident involving a head-on collision by a drunk driver. They were on their way to visit with his wife's mother in Jersey when it happened. They had dropped off the husband at work and were going to spend the night at her mother's and return in the morning to pick him up. They were going from Brooklyn, New York to somewhere in New Jersey....Unfortunately he does not give too many details but gives the name of his wife as Gloria and his daughter as Sherrian. The surname would be CURTIS. This is the first time any of the family members have heard of his first wife so I'm at a lost as to how to proceed to find any record of them and their marriage. Time period would be After 1945 and before Nov 1948. Can anyone help me?
