I found my husband's grandparents', surname Sullivan, deed to a gravesite in Holy Name. The site is Block K, Section 39, No. 2. To our disappointment, however, when we visited the cemetery there was no headstone. However there was a headstone a little back and to the left of Section 39 No. 2, marked just Sullivan and the phrase "at rest".
I stopped at the office and was able to get a list of who was buried at the headstone-less gravesite, so the trip wasn't a total loss. But it wasn't until I got home that I realized not everyone I expected to be buried there was accounted for. I got to wondering if perhaps the others were buried nearby under the simple "SULLIVAN" marker. But I hadn't thought of it then (just figured it was a different family with the same very common name), or I would have asked for the list of names for that site too.
If anyone will be visiting Holy Name Cemetery around section K, I wonder if you could check to see what the exact location of the plain SULLIVAN - AT REST headstone is, so I can call the office and ask for those names? It's the Block K near Sip Avenue, bordering Block N, and the grave is a row or two back from the perimeter bordering Block F. The grave faces Block F. All I need is the section and number. Thank you!
